June 9 – IRA Rebates – Get Ahead of The Competition (Members Only)

On August 16, 2022, the federal Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) was signed into law. The IRA includes $8.8 billion in funding for consumer home energy rebate programs which will be administered by individual states. South Carolina expects to receive over $137 million of these funds, which will be split into two programs: Home Energy Performance Based, Whole House Rebates (HOME rebates) and High Efficiency Electric Home rebates.

Your association is working with the South Carolina Energy Office to make sure SCALT members are in the front line to receive the information on how the money will be distributed.

Join SCALT and The Energy Office on June 9 at Noon for a preview of what is coming.  The details are not confirmed and there are still a lot of questions to be answered, but join us for a time to learn what we do know and let SCALT know what questions are important to you.  We will be working with the Energy Office to answer your questions.

October 6 – Duct Fair

Time/Location: Trident Technical College – Charleston SC

HVAC contractors, installers, services, and building inspectors are invited to attend. Ninehands-on training modules, each staffed with manufacturers’ technical represntatives, and/or specially selected instructors will demonstrate the correct procedure to fabricate and install flex duct, duct board and sheet metal duct systems with their support materials including insulation, mesh, mastic, tape, dampers and hanging straps.Compliance with the International Residential Code and the 2009 IECC will also be a focus.

October 19 – Heat Pump Heating Operation and Diagnostics including – Demand Defrost Made Simple!
